The course continues to be set for growth – New joiners at all levels
BODENHEIMER has become a household in international dispute resolution. Founded in 2017 by Dr. Rouven F. Bodenheimer and Axel Benjamin Herzberg, the internationally operating law firm with offices in Cologne and Berlin has seen impressive growth in recent years. More than twenty professionals represent clients from all over the world in commercial disputes: from arbitration to interim relief, from mediation to cross-border enforcement.
Now BODENHEIMER, which was last strengthened in 2020 by a team around partner Dr. Christof Siefarth coming from GÖRG, can announce further growth milestones:
Salary Partner Dr. Sebastian Feiler (Cologne) was made equity partner with retroactive effect as of January 1, 2023. In addition to his work as arbitrator and party representative, particularly in distribution and commercial matters, Feiler is increasingly active in technology- and life sciences disputes, inter alia in the areas of biotechnology, automotive and plant engineering.
At the counsel level, the firm can also report a further addition:
Coming from Cohausz & Florack, Erik Schäfer joins BODENHEIMER as of April 1, 2023. Schäfer looks back at decades of experience as party representative and arbitrator – including in IP and IT disputes. At BODENHEIMER, Schäfer will in particular expand the Latin America business. Just like founding partner Axel Benjamin Herzberg, Schäfer once started his career at the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC in Paris.
Finally, the firm continues to grow at associate level. Since January 1, 2022,
● three female trainee lawyers and one male trainee lawyer joined the firm as associates after successfully passing the second state examination,
● two additional female colleagues joined the firm as non-German qualified associates.
The firm’s professionals are admitted to the bar in six different jurisdictions on five continents. “At BODENHEIMER, diversity is not just an empty catchphrase, but a reality we live,” says founding partner Dr. Rouven F. Bodenheimer, who also serves as Vice President of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS). “Our next major project is the complete relaunch of our external media presence,” he anticipates.
