Das Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) wurde 1994 gegründet. Ursprünglich bekannt als Centre for Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration, entstand das DIAC auf Initiative der Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry zur Förderung der Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit als Methode der Streitbeilegung. Das DIAC ist derzeit das größte Schiedszentrum im Mittleren Osten.
Die aktuelle DIAC-Schiedsgerichtsordnung ist 2007 in Kraft getreten. Sie wurde ursprünglich auf Englisch verfasst und anschließend ins Arabische übersetzt.
