The Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) was founded in 1975 as a permanent arbitral institution of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. The VIAC was initially meant to administer and supervise exclusively international arbitration cases. As of 01 January 2018, however, with entry into force of the new VIAC Rules of Arbitration and Mediation, the institution also administers domestic cases.
